The Paley Center for Media is a nonprofit media museum and archive in Midtown Manhattan, founded in 1975 by CBS founder William S. Paley as the Museum of Broadcasting; it was renamed the Museum of Television & Radio in 1991 and took its current name in 2007 to reflect an expanded focus on digital and emerging platforms. The Center preserves and makes accessible nearly 160,000 television, radio, and advertising programs dating back to the 1920s, and offers daily screenings, exhibitions, educational workshops, and industry programs such as PaleyFest. It also maintains an archive tied to its former Beverly Hills location. The Paley Center receives support from the New York State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, and is listed in the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs directory.
