Poster House
Art galleryPoster House is a museum in Chelsea, Manhattan dedicated to the history and design of posters, and is considered the first American museum focused exclusively on the medium. It was incorporated in 2015 by artist and board president Val Crosswhite and opened to the public in June 2019 with an inaugural exhibition on Czech graphic designer Alphonse Mucha. The museum holds a permanent collection of thousands of posters gathered from around the world and has since mounted shows on subjects including AIDS-activist poster art, Czechoslovak travel posters, and Black American performers in graphic design. Alongside its exhibitions, Poster House runs K-12 school programs, family guides, summer camps, and educator resources aimed at building design literacy among the public.
