Soho Photo Gallery is an artist-run photography cooperative founded in December 1971 by eight New York Times photographers, including Librado "Lee" Romero, who wanted an accessible space for serious photographers to exhibit personal work. After stints near Prince Street and in Greenwich Village, the gallery settled in Tribeca in 1979, where it operated for 45 years and became the city's longest-running photography gallery, showing work by photographers including Ansel Adams and Andre Kertesz. In April 2025 the member-run nonprofit relocated to Chelsea, near the High Line, where it continues to mount member and themed exhibitions and runs internship and online-exhibition programs.
