Solo Foundation
Art galleryThe Solo Foundation is a New York City nonprofit that supports visual and performance artists as a way of raising public awareness of social issues through their work. It was founded by Howard F. Seligman, known as "Howie Solo," a Brooklyn-born financial consultant with an NYU finance MBA who has served as treasurer for a number of arts organizations and also founded the New Writing Foundation. Seligman continues to serve as the foundation's president, alongside a small board that includes a secretary and treasurer. The organization became an independently run entity in 2023 and centers its activities on artist-led programming rather than direct grantmaking.
