Amy Williams is a Brooklyn-based artist born in Fort Worth, Texas, who holds a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin and an MA from Baruch College, CUNY. Her photographic work is made with film and extended exposure times to produce what she calls photographic drawings, developed by hand in a traditional darkroom and printed in small editions with a master printer; her camera is drawn primarily to natural subjects, water, sky, and trees, rendered in black-and-white abstraction. She also produces mixed-media collage incorporating vintage book pages and sheet music. Williams has held multiple solo exhibitions at Brooklyn's 440 Gallery and shown in group exhibitions in New York and beyond, with work held in collections including the Hutton Hotel in Nashville.
