Eric Yevak
OtherEric Yevak is an abstract, multidisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, New York, who grew up in the South amid Hampton, Virginia's naval and military installations. He holds a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University (2007) and an MFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (2016). His work explores violent conflict, struggle, and religious belief without depicting violence directly, instead building layered abstraction by repeatedly sanding, reapplying pigment, and manipulating resin and silicone so that each stage's marks and errors remain visible in the finished surface. Two bodies of work anchor his practice: a somber Temple Series using colors drawn from the human body, and a more vibrant Garden Series that layers English text with Arabic script translating to "Garden of Eden."
