The Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club is a nonprofit arts organization founded in 1896 and named for Catharine Lorillard Wolfe (1828-1887), the New York philanthropist and art collector who was the only woman among the 106 founders of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Established by leaders and parishioners of Grace Church following her bequest for the promotion of women's work, the club originally provided aid, counsel, and exhibition opportunities to young women artists in New York City. Today it is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Manhattan that welcomes members of all genders and organizes annual juried exhibitions with cash awards, small-works shows, and lectures on art history and professional practice, along with benefit receptions supporting institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
