Fergus McCaffrey
Art galleryFergus McCaffrey is a contemporary art gallery in Chelsea, New York, founded in 2006 by Dublin-born dealer Fergus McCaffrey, who previously worked for Larry Gagosian and Michael Werner. After opening on the Upper East Side, the gallery relocated around 2014 to a two-floor space near the High Line. It is internationally recognized for championing postwar Japanese avant-garde artists associated with the Gutai group, including Sadamasa Motonaga, Natsuyuki Nakanishi, Kazuo Shiraga, and Jiro Takamatsu, alongside Western artists such as Marcia Hafif, Birgit Jurgenssen, and Richard Nonas. A member of the Art Dealers Association of America, the gallery has also operated additional locations, including in Tokyo and the Caribbean.
