Matthew Marks Gallery is a contemporary and modern art gallery founded in 1991 by dealer Matthew Marks, previously of Pace Gallery and Anthony d'Offay. Its debut exhibition, Artists' Sketchbooks, featured Louise Bourgeois, Francesco Clemente, Jackson Pollock, and Cy Twombly; the gallery opened its first Chelsea space at West 22nd Street in 1994 with a show of Ellsworth Kelly. It now operates three exhibition spaces in Chelsea and two in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, representing artists including Jasper Johns, Robert Gober, Katharina Fritsch, Vija Celmins, and Martin Puryear, and manages the estates of Ellsworth Kelly and Ken Price.
